September 25: Go Ride A Bike

There are so many great ways to see Cape May, and from astride a bike is definitely one of them. Add this incredible streak of great weather we’ve been enjoying, and you’ve got a perfect day to hop on a bike and tool around town. If you don’t have one, you can rent one – get a helmet, too – safety first, and when you do, ask for tips about where you should venture based on your skill level. Or, pick up the
Mid-Atlantic Center for the Arts & Humanities’ new Cape May Bike Tour booklet, which has directions, a map, and photos and descriptions of 50 historical and must-see properties and landmarks throughout town. You can do a one, two, or three-loop tour – that’s up to you, and the useful keepsake booklet is yours to keep (it can double as a walking tour guidebook). The cost is $5, and it’s available at the Washington Street Mall information booth, the Cape May Lighthouse or World War II Lookout Tower, or the Carriage House at the Physick Estate.
