Lucky Penny,” the latest installment of Cape May Stage’s Second Stage Series, asks and then answers a heartfelt question: “What would you say to your father, given the chance?” Written and directly by David Deblinger, one of the stars of Cape May Stage’s current smash, The 39 Steps, it’s a departure from Deblinger’s hilarious antics in that production. Lucky Penny is a multimedia experience, featuring an honest, conversational performance that envelopes the audience, along with autobiographical stories and confessional video footage of community center participants. By turns touching and funny, Lucky Penny is always entertaining. This one-time performance will run tonight only, Monday, August 20th at 8pm, at Cape May Stage’s beautiful Robert Shackleton Playhouse. Tickets are $20 – call 609-884-1341 for reservations and information, or visit the theatre’s website.
