It’s going to be a great beach day today, especially for the kids heading over to Windsor Avenue for the annual Junior Clamshell Pitching Tournament. The longest running-contest in the region, the Rich Reinhart Junior Clamshell Pitching Tournament is named after the late president and founder of the International Clamshell Pitching Club of Cape May, and the tournament continues through the efforts of his daughter, Stephanie Stephens. Kids of all ages are welcome, and there are two categories for competitors: ages 10 and under, and ages 10-17. The Junior Clamshell Tournament is free, and runs from 11am-3pm today at the Windsor Avenue Beach. Clamshells and instruction are provided, so don’t worry if you’ve never done it before, and there are trophies for winners of the various contests. Get the kids to the beach and get pitching.
